New office setup is almost done!

It takes 80% of the time to get the last 20% sorted out! The whole systems team has been busy getting everything up in the new office for more than a week now. We got the basic systems – servers, thin clients, internet etc – up in about 50 hours. But the smaller things are taking more time after that. Facing issues getting voice to work over thin clients – at places all the other apps are able to play sound, except the xlite voip client. Some places the sound does not come at all – even after the settings being the same. We even had issues in exim relay configuration and migrating old users’ gnome preferences to new systems. All these experiences deserve a full blog post, so will write about that later!

The puja is done, and work is back to normal. Client meetings have started and so have project deliveries. It’s a little different from the old office – much larger space and different layout, but people are happy. It’s now time to get cracking on the projects!

Photos will be up soon. The place is still not in a “photogenic” shape 😉
