What is Trust?

Robert Browning (1812-1889)
I trust in Nature for the stable laws
Of beauty and utility. Spring shall plant
And Autumn garner to the end of time.
I trust in God,—the right shall be the right
And other than the wrong, while he endures.
I trust in my own soul, that can perceive
The outward and the inward,—Nature’s good
And God’s.
A Soul’s Tragedy. Act. i.

What is trust? Trust is the relationship, trust is reliance on the other, trust is the confidence, faith and the foundation of a relationship.

  2. Congratulations on your new beginning! It takes a lot of courage to do that. I invite you to take on this question, that I keep asking myself: “What am I doing in this relationship to inspire trust?”. This keeps the focus on working on my self, rather than the other. And it has resulted in tremendous shift in the way people relate to me.

    Thanks for dropping by!

  3. Wow, just reading these definations of “trust” seem so fundimental and simple and yet I hear as anyone eles would but can’t relate. It’s like I’m on the outside looking in on something that should obtain within myself but don’t have a clue what it’s like; or maybe at one time I did but as the world has changed unfortunatly so have I.

Constantly, I see my distrust in life, in me and my lover reflected back at me and I feel the despire for them; the world, my boyfriend yet when it comes to me I feel numb. I have always lived by the saying,”If you cannot find it within you, you cannot find it without” So with that in mind I cannot begin to trust my world or my loved ones without finding the Trust within myself first. Honestly, that’s want I yearn for, building a stable trust system that’s real to me!

    Thanks for listening.
