Creative Visualization

In our Saturday Blast event we had a few exercises in the Mind over Matter section. Most of the participants gave the feedback that they really liked the visualization experience.

Whatever you ardently desire,
Sincerely believe in,
Vividly imagine, and
Enthusiastically act upon,
Must inevitably come to pass.

– Sybil Leek, Diary of a Witch

Now, we were not really doing anything occult! Creative visualization was actually an adapted form of Image Streaming. I was reading Win Wenger’s book – The Einstein Factor, and hearing some nice music on my iPod. And the idea struck – visualize yourself as the lead actor in a song! When I did that for the first time, it was really an amazing experience. When 40 people did it together in our office, it was even bigger!

So here’s what you do:

  • Choose a nice romantic song. We did Aashique Banaya Aapne.
  • Sit in a relaxed position. Don’t cross your legs or hands.
  • Play the music.
  • Take deep breaths. Breathe in, breathe out.
  • Imagine you are the lead actor of the song. Imagine yourself in the song.
  • Experience all feelings. All the senses – vision, taste, smell, touch, hearing.
  • Fully involve yourself in the song.
  • Do not get upset if you get distracted. Do not let any thoughts stop. Just be present to whatever you are experiencing and experience more.
  • Once the song completes, slowly open your eyes.

Many people imagined sea, hills, dancing, driving, being with their loved one, being happy and many such positive feelings. After the first song, we also played a soothing instrumental track and invited people to imagine themselves climbing up a hill. Experiencing the surroundings, the noises, the wind, the sight, the body experience and the thoughts.

I invite you to try on this method. More than anything else, it brings you peace and happiness. When you move further to the actual image streaming or creative visualization aspects, you will get present to bigger benefits!

Free your mind! In most of the cases, you are stopping yourself and not the environment.
