Educational Trust – Experiences

I received the honor of contributing to a meeting of the education trust that manages my alma mater. The trust wants to start a computer training institute and the meeting was to conduct a preliminary discussion on the subject.

A lot of fascinating items came forward.

  • Managing a large educational trust is a big deal
  • The trustees must be committed to make something happen
  • New ideas and view points should be welcomed, even if they conflict yours
  • A long term vision of creating the future drives present decisions
  • Long term goals need to be balanced with short term ones
  • Even a trust needs to take care of cash flows to sustain the activities
  • A professionally run trust with high values can cause miraculous results
  • It’s a privilege to be part of a social revolution!
