Hypercity has tied up with Argos to launch catalog shopping. You can now pick up a Hypercity catalog, review the items and order it from home. They also have a website you can order from.
This is a big step from a retailing giant. Is this the start of catalog shopping in India at such large scale?
I had recently bought a Raleigh Cycle from Hypercity Argos since Raleigh Cycles are available only through them. I personally checked the cycle at Hypercity since its near my office in Malad b4 placing an order. It was better to place an order with them and get it home delivered rather than purchasing at Hypercity and then transferring it (I stay @ Mulund) at no extra cost. Blogged about it http://blog.nishitshah.com/2008/06/05/the-cyclist/
Hey.. did you buy one? When I saw the catalog, the Raleigh cycle was the thing I thought to buy! So are you biking to the office now?
Yes, I have bought one. Check http://blog.nishitshah.com/2008/06/05/the-cyclist/ The cycle is too good, pretty light in weight, good brakes and gears. Looks good too. I haven’t yet started biking to office. I stay @ Mulund, Office @ Malad around 28 odd kms. one way 🙁 Just ride it around my house and plan it to take to IIT-B on weekends in the rains.
Hi.
I am also interested in one as I rode one 25 years ago but this one was imported from Uk. It was heavy and even after 25 years did not have a speck of rust. This one was cromsteel. Now the catalogue lists the frame as steel so I would like to know if the steel parts will rust and if these cycles are made in India or imported.
