I was testing my wifi connection once and did the ego search to see if I was getting the proper network settings. And I was surprised to find out that some site knew a lot about me! Without my knowing!
They spidered me! Collected information on my name from various sources and pulled it together.
I was impressed when I saw the page. It had information about Magnet, and what a few other people wrote about me. The technology is pretty cool. They would extract information from the web, and see if the same name had references on other sites. Linking these pieces together they would create a person’s profile. Mine was quite accurate – just a bit dated. So I claimed the page and updated some information. And then I said, let me try out a few other names! And I got almost all the matches!
Now that was surprising. I was thinking of having a solution to find people just by their name from quite some time. And ZoomInfo has done that. There are many other people finding sites, I have not tried many, but I liked this one!
It was interesting to see my name as an associated there. I am even listed as an ex-employee of MagNet Interactive. Very impressive, I must say.
I think this is somewhat like the linkedin.com concept. But I am not too sure about it. Are you listed on that website?
I am on LinkedIn.
What really surprised me about ZoomInfo was just that they knew so much about me! I mean, it’s all from the Internet, but yet, seeing all that in a single place!
Amazing!
Thats really great.
I could know much about you (surprised 😉 )after I visited there.
